GHOSTS OF CLEAR CREEK COUNTY

Sneak preview: Ninety-Four

[ Ninety-Four ]

Ninety-Four was named for the year of its birth, but it was never formally incorporated. It was a rather small community that grew up around three principal mines--the Ninety Four, the Lalla, and the Princess Alice.

There are several cabins still standing, and quite a bit to see. The view of St. Mary's Glacier and the resort around the lake below is spectacular. Behind the cabins are three grave markers; if you have a good imagination you can still read the writing on the wooden ones!

Read more - including the illustrious history of the Hotel de Paris and its famous guests - in Ghosts of Clear Creek County, one of a series of concise books on ghost towns and mining camps of Colorado.
